Let Us Legislate
For Justice-
You cannot make this stuff up-and Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting the circumstances to change and they will not. It was only in 1991, when Rodney King was beat relentlessly by uniform Policemen and the entire beating was recorded and broadcast on every media outlet-and still these men walked-Travon Martin’s killer was told by the Police to abort his trailing of the “suspect” and wait for the professionals to intercede and he did not-shot and killed the young brother and was set free of all charges-and now Brother Michael Jones, he is actually the sixteenth young black man killed by uniform police, just since Trayvon- http://hiphopandpolitics.com/2012/04/06/29-black-people-have-been-killed-by-policesecurity-since-jan-2012-16-since-trayvon/ without cause (because we will never know their stories). We were not given the opportunity to hear from this brother (Mike Brown) about what happened. We are not allowed to understand his point of view and weigh the options based on Due Process. His parents were not given the courtesy of visiting him in jail or the hospital but instead the morgue. A Jury of his peers were not called by legal document to bear witness of all the pertinent testimony and using the law predicate his guilt or innocence.
Our community has suffered for decades from Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a type of anxiety disorder. It can occur after you have gone through an extreme emotional trauma that involved the threat of injury or death-Just like in Slavery times when a person tried to extract themselves from the strongholds of the oppressor and was returned. There was a way of punishment that was applied that didn’t even involve touching the other enslaved persons. That tool is still being used today they are leaving bodies lying in wait, for all to see and grieve and build hatred because of, their actions. They are posturing by taking huge amount of time to prepare the community for violence that they would be responsible for causing. This is being done on the backs of people who have lived and died in those very same communities.

Predominantly black neighborhood being patrolled by those who could care less about the neighborhood or the people living in it. There was a word used when this was done back in slavery times and that word was “overseer”. Their job was to make certain the workers were productive and profits were maximized. Much like now-reality is we are in tough times and they require tough decisions-We need legislation put into place to curtail this mentality and these types of actions- When a black man dies, it isn’t only him that suffers, it is a generation that suffers. Emmitt Tills mother did not have another son to replace the one that was taken from her in 1955. Trayvon Martins parents will never have another Trayvon and Michael Browns parents will not ever have another Michael Brown or his children to carry the Brown name forward. Black men are systematically being discarded at the whim of its oppressors and this has to cease for the future of our race. We have no downtime and every issue is important. Let’s not get caught sleeping ever again. This struggle is real. And the people are too!
